How Are Lost People Saved? Lesson 2
Introduction:
1. In the last lesson we saw that millions are lost. How can they be saved?
2. Individuals are not saved:
a. By merely being baptized. The new birth involves water and Spirit – John 3:5
b. By merely being active in a church – even a church of Christ.
3. Memorize Romans 1:16-17
I. LOST PEOPLE ARE SAVED WHEN THEY ARE MADE RIGHTOUES BY GOD
A. Righteousness is innocence – being right
a. No man is innocent in his own right – Rom. 3:23
b. If one is to be innocent he must be made innocent by being forgiven of his sins – I John 1:9
c. What made it possible for God to forgive guilty men – Rom. 3:24-26?
d. What was the purpose of Jesus’ coming to the world – Luke 2:3-4

Conclusion:
No wonder the last words of Jesus to His disciples before ascending to the Father were
those found in Mark 16:15-16. According to those words:

3. What will God then do?
Is there any responsibility conceivable that would be greater? Is it reasonable that anything should have priority over this in our own lives or in the work of the church?
